We've been closely following the rapidly changing developments of the COVID-19 situation this past week, and have decided that it would be best to postpone our 2020 event until the spring of 2021. Prior to this announcement, we had hoped to push the event to a fall date but feel that the possibility of having a gathering of 5000+ people take place is very unlikely before the local hockey season takes over all of the venues of appropriate size.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and those in the community who stepped up to show their support by donating money to fund our event, but we have decided to issue refunds as soon as possible and we will renew our call for support when the world settles back to the new normal.
We've seen a large uptick in the sharing of online resources for making at home, and would encourage everyone to continue this sharing of knowledge and enthusiasm (in true Maker Expo spirit) so we can continue to learn and grow our skills even if we can't be sharing the workshop space together. We'd love to see what projects you dust off the shelf and finally give some love to during this time of self-isolation. Please feel free to tag us if you share on social media #makerexpo!
We look forward to when our team can reunite and start the planning of our 2021 show. Until then, take care of yourselves and each other.
