The Maker Expo crew rolled into the Cambridge Art Festival today representing the Expo as well as kwartzlab. We were engaging makers and visitors alike. Thanks Cambridge!
Got a few more pics for you, but first I’ve got two important messages of the day:
1. We’ll be at Summer Lights Festival tonight in Kitchener at 179 King St W. so come see us and build an LED-lit badge that Agnes has cooked up for you.
2. Sign up for Maker Expo! Right now! Only 9 days left to amplify your fun by participating in our Sept 19 event at Kitchener City Hall.
Alright, a few pics from today…
As I wandered out front of Cambridge City Hall, I was delighted to bump into the ever-awesome crew of Cambridge Live Music. If you don’t know them, you should. They are kicking ass on their mission to connect you with live music.
Maker Expo organizer and TinkerTruck co-chief Cam Turner was helping button makers of all sizes.
Expo organizer Ravi Baboolal and his bot-buildin’-buddy Antoine were talking about Bot Brawl which is a partnered with Maker Expo to happen same day, same place.
Our button station was delightfully ravaged by makers.
You can make buttons too. Turns out that you can even cut out a business card logo and use it in your button. Button improv!
LEGO bot met…
Antoine’s carbide-tipped robot of death (well, robot death)
Ben got the 3D printer rocking. Just another reason why Ben is the Maker Expo boss.
Ravi talking to our robotic neighbours. They had a wicked carbon fibre octo-copter frame.
Picture perfect day in Cambridge.
MEEPs, Ben and Neil, representin’.
I toted my DroneBox a ways away from the Maker Expo table. It’s not for everyone with its buzzing dissonant hums and whirs. Just ask Agnes who had to listen to it beside me on Thursday 😉 (Sorry Aga!)
Thanks for having Maker Expo into your space, your town, and your great event. Cambridge really shows up, and we hope you all will show up and sign up for Maker Expo! Event is Sept 19, but maker sign-up deadline is Canada Day, July 1. Git ‘er done!
